The Doctor’s Chamber celebrated 32 years since its foundation: With mutual efforts we create better conditions for medical practice and treatment of patients
The Doctor’s Chamber has celebrated 32 years since its foundation as an autonomous and professional organization of all doctors in our country on the event organized in the “House of Art”, in Klezino village that was attended by representatives of the Chamber’s structural bodies, representatives of state institutions and doctors from all over the country. The President of the Chamber, Prof. Dr. Kalina Grivcheva Stardelova, and the Deputy President of the Chamber, Ass. Prof. Dr. Bekim Ismaili addressed the guests with appropriate welcoming speeches.
”The times and the circumstances that we all live and work in are both turbulent and unsettled, but our effort to stand to professional standards and quality work is what must be our constant because it is the only way for us to be certain that we perform what we were taught and committed to. The Chamber continues to stand as a representative of the doctors and a constructive partner of the creators of the health policies in obtaining better working conditions for the doctors that we expect to result in maintaining the young doctors here, in our country, by providing appropriate income and creating a sustainable and quality healthcare system which is one of the basic elements for a quality society. I believe that only united, with joint efforts we can enable a better future for us as doctors and for our patients as well”, stated Prof. Dr. Grivcheva Stardelova in her speech, providing information on the activities that were undertaken by the Chamber in the former period.
Assistant Professor Dr. Bekim Ismaili has given a closer insight in the changes of the licensing examination procedure that started with the examination session in June.
“The written part of the exam shall be carried out with a computer system program that generates a test consisting of examination questions and multiple-choice answers and the doctors have the opportunity to choose whether they take the test in Macedonian or Albanian language. The database with the examination questions is available in the internet site of the Chamber and this provides a better support in the process of preparation for the exam and the examination process. With this new examination method, there shall be enhancement in the time-consumption of the process since the test shall not be assessed by the examination commission which makes a substantial difference in the examination sessions with a large number of candidates. For the purpose of realization of this activity, a procurement of computers and a specialized computer program has been made as well as an adaptation of a required examination facility”, stated Ass. Prof. Dr. Bekim Ismaili.

The Doctor’s Chamber has been constituted on the 5th of June 1992 upon an initiative of several doctors from the Macedonian Medical Association. The first constitutional assembly has been held in the premises of the former military hospital. In the beginning, both doctors of medicine and doctors of stomatology have been members of this one chamber. In the year 1995, the stomatologists form a separate Macedonian Dental Chamber. Thirty-two years later, the Doctor’s Chamber has risen to be a respectable, independent, autonomous professional organization established in native and international plans with its clear goals and programs aiming to promote the doctor’s rights and the healthcare system.
