Licensing Exam
After completing the trainee internship, the doctor must take the licensing exam within one-year period in order to obtain a working licence. The procedures for taking the licensing exam and the issuing of the working licence are regulated with the Manual for licensing exam and issuing of first licence.
The application and the organization of the licensing examination is done according the Calendar for licensing examination.
Manual for licensing exam
Necessary documentation:
- Application for the licensing exam
- Faculty diploma/Certificate for completed medical studies – notarized photocopy;
- Personal trainee card, with recordings of the trainee internship, in accordance with the Manual on the plan and the program for trainee internship – notarized photocopy;
- Citizenship certificate – original document or notarized photocopy;
- Payment slip on the payment for the licensing exam.
A candidate who has completed medical studies abroad must also submit:
- Decision for acceptance of the studies by the Ministry of Education and Science of RNM – notarized photocopy;
- Diploma for completed studies in medicine – notarized photocopy;
- Diploma for completed studies in medicine - translation in Macedonian language by a court interpreter – notarized photocopy.
Acceptance of the foreign licensing exam
For the acceptance of foreign licensing exam, the following documentation needs to be submitted:
- Request for acceptance of foreign licensing exam
- Statement – notarized
- Validation of the diploma issued by the Ministry of Education and Science of RNM – notarized photocopy
- Diploma for completed studies in medicine – notarized photocopy;
- Diploma for completed studies in medicine - translation in Macedonian language by a court interpreter – notarized photocopy
- Citizenship certificate – original document or notarized photocopy
- Personal trainee card – with faculty recordings of the internship – translation in Macedonian language
- Plan and program of the foreign licensing exam – notarized photocopy with faculty validation – translation in Macedonian language
- Protocols of the licensing exam - notarized photocopy with faculty validation – translation in Macedonian language
Examination commission
List of accredited doctors for examination commission
Examination commissions for the licensing exam are constituted of seven members. A doctor can be assigned to be a member of an examination commission in accordance with the Program for trainee internship, if accredited by the Commission for medical issues of the Doctor’s Chamber and if hadn’t been engaged in the trainee internship of the candidate. The accreditation is in duration of two years.
A member of an examination commission can be a doctor of medicine who complies with the following criteria:
- Has a valid working licence issued by the Doctor’s Chamber of RNM;
- Possesses an evidence for team work – certificate for participation in projects, medical or scientific boards, boards in institutions or associations, boards of congresses, symposiums or other forms of professional or scientific enhancement;
- Certificate for experience in teaching and grading.
Apart from the doctors, these commissions also include lawyers. A lawyer can be accredited a member of an examination commission if complies with the following criteria:
- A certificate of at least five years working experience in the field of health issued by a healthcare institution or organizations which functioning is related to the area of health (Ministry of Health, Faculty of Medicine, Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts and others).
