The Chamber has taken participation in an event organized by the healthcare network of Southeastern Europe
The licencing system providing licences to doctors has been the main topic of the international workshop that took place on the 4th and the 5th of June in Chisinau, Moldova and was organized by the Healthcare network of Southeastern Europe.
The activities of the Doctor’s Chamber as an authorized body processing the licencing procedures in our country have been presented by Prof. Dr. Vesna Gerasimovska, President of the Commission for Ethical and Legal Issues within the chamber that primary deals with this matter.
“Compared to other countries from the Southeastern region we can state that in our country, the licencing system has high standards, is very well organized, and complies in full with the existing legal framework. Legal and sub-legal acts have been brought regarding this issue, as well as manuals that regulate the procedures and actions for issuing licences by the chamber. Major part of the Southeastern countries do not have licences for doctors neither chambers as professional organizations with specific authorizations” stated Prof. Dr. Gerasimovska.
Welcoming introductions for the opening of this event have also been given by high representatives of the healthcare institutions of Moldova, the World Health Organization and the healthcare network of Southeastern Europe.
Apart from Prof. Dr. Gerasimovska, national reports have also been presented by the representatives of Bulgaria, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Albania and Israel. The sessions and the discussions accented the challenges in the licencing process and the possibilities for promotion of the above with the digitalization process. The event had an exceptional organization and was full of productive and interesting contents and activities, that provide an excellent opportunity for beginning of a process of a more intense communication, exchange of experiences and opening of new possibilities for interconnection and professional engagement and prosperity of the doctors from the countries of Southeastern Europe.
As a reminder, the Doctor’s Chamber in our country has been authorized to carry out the licencing and accreditation process with the legal changes from year 2004 that started with their implementation in 2005. The first licensees were officially presented in December 2005.
