Doctors Chamber signed a Memorandum for collaboration with patient’s associations
In order to promote the mutual collaboration intending to create better conditions for treatment of patients and improved working conditions for the doctors, The Doctors Chamber has signed a Memorandum for collaboration with the patient’s associations. On behalf of the Chamber, the document has been signed by Prof. Dr. Kalina Grivcheva Stardelova with the representatives of the association of citizens with kidney diseases “Nefron”, the association of citizens for rare diseases, “Life with Challenges”, Hepar Center Bitola, the association of citizens with chronic myeloid leukemia, association for support of people living with HIV “Stronger Together”, association of people with diabetes of North Macedonia, association of patients with cancer and their caregivers “HEMA-ONKO” and “FEMINA M” and association for assistance and support of the patients with gynaecology diseases.
The President of the Chamber, Prof. Dr. Grivcheva Stardelova emphasized that the Memorandum represents an act of good will of both sides for further more successful cooperation.
“This is an important event for all of us, since it sends a clear message that the doctors and the patients are not opponents as usually perceived by the public, but true allies towards a common goal, which is enabling an improved treatment of the patients, which is preconditioned by providing better working conditions for the doctors” stated Prof. Dr. Grivcheva Stardelova.
The mutual activities shall be directed to raising the level of cooperation and communication between the doctors and the patients, strengthening the trust with establishing a partners relationship and providing mutual support for issues of common interest through announcements, press conferences, forums and implementation of activities directed towards promotion of the level of the public health as well as joint access to the authorized institutions in order to propose solutions to problems of common interest. The necessity of mutual approach in the process of modifying and expanding the National List of Essential Medicines, has been determined to be a priority in the forthcoming period.
The signatories of the Memorandum shall also maintain regular coordinating meetings and these activities may additionally include other associations of patients who share the same goals and interests.
